Electric Power Program

The electricity industry faces great challenges to keep the system vibrant, reliable, secure, and more responsive to consumer needs. The CECA Electric Power Program was launched to work towards developing policies that increase system efficiency and provide more options and services to consumers.

Title: The CECA Transmission Forum: Ensuring a Strong Transmission System to Support Consumer Needs For Cost- Effectiveness, Security and Reliability U.S. electricity consumers expect to have access to a reliable, adequate supply of power at a reasonable cost. But today, America’s electricity consumers, especially smaller retail customers, pay billions of dollars a year more than they need to because of the inefficiencies and constraints in the existing electricity transmission grid.

Title: Electric Industry Restructuring Forum Based on the urgent need for a coherent plan of action to prevent future crises similar to the California experience of 2000-01, the Forum examined the lessons learned from past restructuring efforts, the barriers to an optimal system, and the structure of the viable marketplace to allow for consumer benefits in the form of a safe and secure supply of reliable electricity, generous choice of services and quality, and reasonable prices.
