CECA Solutions is the successor organization to the Consumer Energy Council of America (CECA). CECA was founded in 1973 as a non-profit public policy organization focused on the consumer interest in energy policy. CECA, lead by Ellen Berman since its inception, has been at the forefront of the nation’s energy policy debates throughout its existence.
CECA released a landmark report of its Fuels and Technologies Forum, Fueling the Future: Better Ways to Use America’s Fuel Options. That report, the product of a year and a half effort involving many of the nation’s leading energy experts, recognized the need to use all energy fuels and identified a number of obstacles the nation should confront to meet its energy needs of the future.
CECA Solutions was launched in 2008 to focus more directly on client needs as the nation tackles the complex energy issues identified in the Fueling the Future report. CECA Solutions is a for-profit business and works with public and private sector clients in overcoming the obstacles to furthering an optimal energy future.
CECA Solutions’ principals have many decades of experience in energy and environmental public policy issues.
Ellen Berman, Chief Executive Officer: Ms. Berman is the founder of CECA and its President throughout that organization’s life. She led the organization in hundreds of major energy policy debates, building coalitions of industry, government and consumer organizations. Complementing a 30 plus year history in developing public policy in the consumer’s interest, Ms Berman brings strong relationships with the energy sector’s major players.
Richard Aiken President: Mr. Aiken’s 30 plus years’ experience includes senior positions in both the public and private sectors. Mr. Aiken served as Senior Policy Advisor to the Secretary of Energy and Senior Legislative Assistant to a prominent member of Congress. His work in the private sector included consulting roles with Booz Allen Hamilton and others where he provided energy advice to public and private sector clients.
Continuing the good work of our predecessor organization, the Consumer Energy Council of America (CECA), we have designed our website as both an information source for energy consumers and a forum to embrace critical energy issues.
We will continue to provide expert discussions on critical energy issues with links to help readers further research the topics.
